Instant Breathing Exercises To De-stress

We live in a world where everything is instant. From online shopping to making noodles to booking a cab, everything happens in the snap of our fingers. So why not de-stressing? There are a few breathing exercises that can offer instant relaxation and help you feel better. These exercises are so simple that you don’t even have to get up from your chair. You can practise them as you read along.

  • Here’s a simple technique to practise deep breathing instantly –

Start inhaling when you see the shapes emerge from the bottom and continue until you see the full octagon formation. Start exhaling when the octagon begins dissolving back and continue until the shapes disappear. Practise this routine for at least ten minutes every day and you can boost your energy.

We have already discussed the importance of deep breathing earlier in this blog. Deep breathing helps relieve tension, relaxes the muscles and elevates your mood.

  • Another quick breathing exercise is the well-known Kapalbhati. In this, you exhale actively and rapidly while you inhale passively. You should be able to feel your stomach muscles move to the rhythm of your exhales, like in the GIF below –

  • Anulom-Vilom is another popular breathing exercise in which one keeps inhaling and exhaling alternately through the nostrils. Anulom-Vilom can help cure diabetes and relieve stress. It is also beneficial for the eyes and the ears.

We hope these exercises will help you find your way to instant relaxation!
