OBJECTIVE
To test the hypothesis that improvement in myocardial perfusion by CABG combined with intensive medical therapy (MED) improves long term survival compared to MED alone in patients with LV dysfunction and CAD amenable to CABG.

APPROACH
STICH Trial is a multicenter, international, randomized trial wherein, over four years, 100 clinical sites will recruit 2425 consenting adults with LV ejection fraction <_ .35 and amenable to CABG. Patients with ongoing CCS III angina intensity or presence of left main coronary artery stenosis will be ineligible for the study.
