Dr Ashwin Giridhar is a urologist with experience of 9 years. He completed his MBBS from Kasturba Medical College Mangalore Manipal University, Manipal, Karnataka. He did MS in general surgery from Medical College Kottayam, Gandhinagar, Kottayam Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. Further, Dr Giridhar did his MCh in genitourinary surgery (urology) from Medical College Kottayam, Gandhinagar, Kottayam KUHAS, Thrissur, Kerala.
He earned various certificates such as a training certificate in Uro-Oncology at Indo-American Cancer Institute, Hyderabad and a certificate of da Vinci System Training as a Console Surgeon Intuitive surgical and da Vinci surgical system. Being a fellow in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) at the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India and Academy of General Education (FAGE) Academy House Manipal, Karnatak, Dr. Giridhar has performed all surgeries related to Endourology viz TURP, TURBT, RIRS, PCNL, Laser Surgeries etc. He started his career as Senior Resident in the Dept of Surgery and Urology, Govt Medical College Hospital, Kottayam. Later, he worked as a Lead Consultant Urologist in the Dept of Urology, Matha Hospital, Kottayam, and as visiting Consultant Urologist at KIMS, Kottayam.
He was also a consultant urologist at Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, Hyderabad. Having experience of so many years, he has individually performed and assisted various surgeries related to reconstructive urology viz urethroplasty and female Urology viz TOT, VVF repair. He has also performed open and laparoscopic General Urology and Uro-Oncology surgical procedures, cases of Robotic surgeries and Renal Transplants. He has written many journals, which have been published and recognized by people.
These journals are on various topics like the Role of sentinel lymph node biopsy in clinically node-negative carcinoma penis, Quality of life in renal transplant, Malignancy in an Undescended Intra-abdominal Testis, etc. Presently, he is working as a consultant urologist and transplant surgeon at CARE Super Specialty Hospital – Hi-tech City, Hyderabad, to serve his patients.
