Dr. Bharat Vijay Purohit is an accomplished Interventional Cardiologist with more than 26 years of experience. As the leader of multidisciplinary teams consisting of, he provides state of the art care for patients with Cardiac issues. He has pursued his MBBS in SCB Medical College, MD (General Medicine) in MKCG Medical College, and DM (Cardiology) - SCB Medical College. Over the past 26 years, he has worked as an Assistant Surgeon in rural areas, a Senior Resident in Cardiology at Batra Hospital, Delhi, Senior Resident at Jaslok Hospital, a Medtronic Physician Fellowship from Washington Medical Center, Washington (USA), Consultant Cardiologist Apollo Hospital Jubilee Hills Hyderabad, Chief of Cathlab services and Interventional cardiology, Senior Consultant Cardiologist at Continental Hospital. He has presented a research paper in EURO PCR 2006, API Conference, Lucknow in Jan 1997, Intervention Council of India Meetings at Bangalore (2004), Mumbai (2005), Calcutta (2006), Attended as faculty in many national and international conferences, and has written articles for many magazines. He is the first person in AP/Telangana to perform TAVR and the first to implant a leadless pacemaker in that region (after its commercial availability). He assisted in implanting the first biodegradable stent in India. He is the only surgeon in the AP/Telangana region who implants the LA Appendage Occluder. He performed more than 250 percutaneous interventions using the ulnar approach. In addition, he performed more than 500 coronary angioplasty procedures.

  • Performed independently All Complex Coronary interventions e.g. Primary PCI, CTO’s (Retrograde Approach Also), SVG graft interventions, Left main Interventions, Bifurcation Stenting, Rotablation etc.
  • Performed Independently ASD Device closure, PDA Closure, RSOV closure, Alcohol Septal Ablation in HOCM, Peripheral Interventions (Iliac, Femoral Popliteal), Renal Stenting.
  • Well Experienced in Doing Carotid Stenting, BMV’s, PVBD.
  • Performed Independently Live Case To IJCTO-2018@Hyderabad.
  • ADR workshop conducted Independently at Continental hospital in 6 CASES (8 Drs Participated Across INDIA)-2018.
  • Retrograde CTO Workshop conducted with International Faculty in 2019 with DR.M OCHIAI.
  • LAAC workshop conducted at Continental hospital@2018.
  • His Area of Interest and Expertise is in doing Complex Cardiac Interventions (especially Post CABG, Chronic Total Occlusion LMCA intervention, Rotablation) etc 15.He is one of the1st to start TAVR,( Non surgical Aortic valve replacement) in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region.
  • He is one of the 1st and has maximum experience in doing LA appending closure for preventing stroke in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana Region.
