The Vagus nerve is an essential part of the autonomic nervous system. Vagus Nerve Stimulation is the process of using electrical impulses to stimulate the Vagus nerve. Vagus nerve stimulation treatment is used for depression and epilepsy. Conventionally, a device is implanted under the skin of the chest through surgery, along with a wire under the skin that is connected to Vagus nerve on the left. The nerve on the right side isn’t connected as it may be linked to the heart. The electrical impulses through the device on the left Vagus system send signals to the brain.
