CARE Children Heart Institute (CCHI) is a distinctive specialty at CARE Hospitals that covers all aspects of heart disease in infants and unborn babies, children, and adolescents. Diagnosis and treatment has evolved today to enable Paediatric Cardiologists to treat even rare forms of heart disorders in infants and children.
The primary goal of our specialized and experienced team of Paediatric Cardiologists, Paediatric Cardiac Surgeons and Intensivists, Anesthesiologists is to deliver efficient cardiac care. From focusing on early detection of disorders to efficient child cardiac techniques, our Paediatric Cardiac team has demonstrated a firm commitment by leveraging the robust technological infrastructure while following evidence-based treatment protocols.
We have performed several challenging surgical procedures that are related to:
1. Complex Congenital Heart Diseases
Congenital heart diseases include a wide range of cardiac abnormalities that develop when the baby is in the womb. These abnormalities can alter the flow of blood and affect the development and functioning of the heart. The surgeries that are performed for correcting these conditions might vary ranging from simple and straightforward to extremely complex. This will depend on the abnormality of the patient. We perform minor, minimally invasive procedures as well as open-heart surgeries that require a heart-lung machine.
2. Valve Repair/Replacement
This surgery is used for treating valvular heart disease. When the valves of the heart become diseased or damaged, they might stop functioning properly. The conditions that might cause this heart valve dysfunction are valvular insufficiency and valvular stenosis. The traditional treatment for this is an open-heart surgery through which the valves are either replaced or repaired. A bypass machine is required in this procedure to ensure that blood continues to be pumped while the heart is stopped.
3. Neonatal Heart Surgery
This surgery is performed for repairing congenital heart defects. These defects can be minor, serious, or rare. Depending on whether the defect is inside the heart or in the blood vessels present outside the heart, the procedure will vary. Neonatal heart surgery is performed on babies that require surgery to correct their heart defects immediately after they are born.
4. Single Ventricle Heart Surgery
This surgery is performed for treating the single ventricle defect in which a child is born with a heart that has just one ventricle that is strong or large enough to pump blood. The defects include hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), tricuspid atresia, double outlet left ventricle (DOLV), heterotaxy defects, and other congenital heart defects. To correct this defect, the child has to go through a series of open-heart surgeries that are performed over the span of several years.
5. Interventional Cardiology
Interventional Cardiology allows our doctors to treat cardiac problems without surgery using specialized imaging techniques and catheter-based procedures. At Care Hospital, we are equipped to perform a full range of pediatric interventional cardiology procedures and treatments, including Transcatheter valve replacement, Pulmonary artery rehabilitation, PDA occlusion, Hybrid procedures, Fetal cardiac intervention, Endovascular stenting, Diagnostic cardiac catheterization, Device atrial septal defect closure, Coarctation angioplasty, and stenting, and Balloon angioplasty and valvuloplasty.
With the help of our experienced team of pediatric specialists, we have managed to become one of the most reliable pediatric cardiology care providers in the country. Our team has pioneered several efficient and innovative cardiac techniques. Combining this with our best-in-class facilities, we are able to provide the highest degree of quality care to our patients.
