Dr. Gnaneswar Atturu has over 20 years of clinical experience and worked as consultant vascular and trauma surgeon in Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust NHS, before joining CARE hospital. He has completed his MBBS from Siddhartha Medical college, NTR university of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, M.S (General Surgery) from Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh and DNB (General surgery) from Diplomat of National Board, Delhi. He then worked as Assistant Professor in Narayana Medical College, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh before moving to United Kingdom (UK).
He worked in UK for 14 years in various positions and completed his higher surgical training from Yorkshire and Humber Deanery, United Kingdom. He has bagged several higher degrees like MRCS, FRCS, PgCert, Ch.M and MBA from UK and received the prestigious ‘The James Hogarth Pringles Gold medal’ in ChM (M.Ch) Vascular and Endovascular surgery from the Royal college of surgeons of Edinburgh.
He is currently an international faculty and module leader for the ChM Vascular and Endovascular surgery course in the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. He has written books, book chapters and published several peer reviewed articles in various national and international journals. He has authored the ‘Chapter 56: Lymphatic Disorders’ in the 27th Edition of Short practice of surgery Bailey and Love, a prestigious book read by doctors all over the world. He was invited as a faculty member in several national and international conferences and has personally designed and organised CME’s, courses and workshops.
He led multidisciplinary teams and clinics in Diabetic foot care and vascular access surgery in UK as a consultant vascular surgeon, the two leading diseases affecting many people in India. His expertise In diabetic limb salvage is well recognised both nationally and internationally.
