The outbreak of the Coronavirus has put the world at risk. The situation is so severe that a global health emergency has been declared by the World Health organisation. Coronavirus originated in Wuhan, a city in China and since its outbreak the disease has claimed around 361 lives in the country. Coronavirus has transcended the borders of China infecting more than 17,000 people across the world. As per the WHO currently, 27 countries have been affected by the disease. What is Coronavirus?
The term coronavirus is used for many viruses that cause diseases and illnesses in humans and animals. These include the rather common and non-fatal illnesses like colds. At the other end are the extremely lethal ones such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome. The Coronavirus are zoonotic. This implies that humans get the virus from insects or animals. The new Coronavirus which is currently posing a grave threat can spread from humans to humans. A healthy person can get infected by coming into contact with a person suffering from Coronavirus. When an infected person coughs or sneezes, secretions will be produced. These secretions can make a healthy person extremely ill. Other than this, Coronavirus can also spread through contact like shaking hands with the infected person.

At the moment there is no treatment for COVID 19 or vaccine that can cure human-to-human Coronavirus. However, you can stay safe by taking certain precautions. Try to avoid contact with people who are suffering from the disease. In case the contact is unavoidable, immediately wash your hands. By maintaining safety standards, you can prevent the spread of the disease. Cover your mouth and nose with a handkerchief when you cough or sneeze, especially in a crowded area. Keep your hands clean by thoroughly washing them. If you are feeling ill, contact the doctor immediately and try to stay at home as much as possible. Though Coronavirus is a deadly disease, but through awareness and by maintaining proper precautions, you can keep safe. In case you have fever or any symptoms of the disease, book an appointment with a doctor. If neglected, the Coronavirus infections can become life-threatening.
